Jay Weinberg should receive free gasoline for the rest of his life.


The 15-minutes of relief the 29-year-old musician provided a small group of drivers frustrated by high gas prices in Valparaiso, Indiana last Monday was more than noble.


It was humane.


Burnishing guitar and megaphone atop a convenience store, Weinberg acted like a modern-day Woody Guthrie as he led the commuters in a protest song.


Police arrested him for his enthusiasm, of course, but the showman went peacefully with wife in tow to bail him out to his adoring fans.
