Minority Rule A few nights ago I caught an interview with Bolivian President Evo Morales on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Much like its neighbor to the North, the United States, this country broke from Spanish rule in 1825; the name is derived from its version of George Washington, independence champion Simon Bolivar. Just as we have never had a Native American in any elected position above senator or governor, neither had Bolivia for 180 years
