Can The End Be Far Behind?

Last night I watched one of the most exciting baseball games of the season, a seesaw contest between the Phillies of Philadelphia and the Chicago Cubs.

The Phils scored once in the top of the first inning; the Northsiders tied them in the bottom half. The Cubs went on to score another run in the second, followed by two in the third.

Starter Rich Hill (his name sounds like somewhere one might visit on vacation, perhaps a played-out silver mine in Colorado) was pulled in the fifth after giving up three runs, then two walks.

Both teams had a plethora of opportunities to score, right through the top of the ninth inning. Look out
