To The Editor: OUR TROOPS IN IRAQ Relating to the House of Representatives debate of the non-binding resolution against the “troop surge” for the Iraq war and the Bush News Conference of 2/14/07: We know from history a misrepresentation shouted loud enough and long enough becomes believed by many. This strategy is known as the “Big Lie.” The present administration has incorporated this strategic rhetoric of “Support Our Troops,” which we must do, in a perverse way to convince and coerce the American People and the U.S. Congress into submission and divert them from understanding the true facts. In-fact, this administration hides behind the slogan “Support Our Troops” while pretending to protect the lives of American troops. America entered the invasion and war in Iraq under questionable and false pretenses and this is indisputable.
